For Destin and John’s wedding, GX Media provided a very personal service to the bride and groom. Destin’s mother suffers from debilitating MS and would not physically be able to attend the ceremony. Seeing no reason for a mother to miss her daughter’s own wedding, Brian Greer of GX Media set up a webcast of the ceremony so that Destin’s mom (and any other family member not in attendance) could watch the ceremony live on the internet from the Live Events page right here on this website.
On August 22nd, Destin’s mom was able to see her daughter get married thanks to the miracles of modern technology. This was probably one of the most important events we have covered because of how much it meant to the families involved. It was truly an honor to make this possible for such wonderful people.
Brian used the Sony HDR-HC1 HDV camcorder to stream the wedding live over the internet. The HD footage was down-converted on the fly and broadcast using Ustream’s Watershed service. High definition clips were captured simultaneously with the stream and edited at 720/24p, which is what you see in the highlight video below. The archived stream of the entire wedding can be viewed above, and a higher quality version of the stream can be downloaded in the links section.
