"A New Era" - December 1, 2001: Pineknot, KY

PWF Mid-South Champion Dave Pillman The promotion formerly known as Southeastern Championship Wrestling dissolved before promoter Gene Goodman's eyes. Wrestling manager Rob Yublind seized control of 51% of the company and announced an affiliation with the Pennsylvania-based Premier Wrestling Federation (PWF). SCW was no longer in existence...PWF Mid-South was born.

Since SCW was now defunct, so were its champions. Yublind fired most of the roster and vacated all the belts. A one night tournament would be held to crown a new champion...the first ever PWF Mid-South Heavyweight Champion.

Neither man directly used the chair on the other until Krazzy bashed Menace in the end resulting in the DQ.

  • Scotty Blade defeated "Stunning" Shawn Shultz in 7:54 - Schultz tapped out to Blades' Crippler Crossface.

    TOURNAMENT - ROUND TWO

  • Menace defeated Scotty Blade in 10:04 - The ref took a bump during a bodyslam attempt by Menace. Blade locked in the Crossface and Menace tapped, but the ref didn't see it. When Blade got up to get the ref, Menace low-blowed him and rolled him up with his feet on the ropes to advance to the finals.

  • In a "Fans Bring The Belts Match," Willie B. Badd defeated Scott Bishop in 6:14 - The fans in the front row got to use their belts to whip the wrestlers when they were thrown outside. Badd got the pin following a Death Valley Driver. Rob Yublind fired Bishop after the match, and Willie B. Badd received a contract.

TOURNAMENT - FINALS: STEEL CAGE MATCH
  • Dave "The Science" Pillman defeated Menace in 15:52 - Pillman came out with an icepack on his neck due to the beating he had received throughout the night. Menace gained the advantage early and slammed Pillman's head into the cage, busting him open. Pillman gave Menace a sit-down powerbomb and climbed to the top of the cage for a senton splash. He jumped, but Menace moved! Menace went to the top for a moonsault, jumped, but Pillman moved! Rob Yublind ran into the cage and knocked out the referee with a cookie sheet. Pillman chased him out of the cage but Yublind slammed the cage door on Pillman's head! Rob Yublind went back into the cage and laid Menace on top of Pillman and began making the count. SCW promoter Gene Goodman ran in and hit Yublind across the back with a chair. Menace punched Goodman, but when he turned around, was caught with a Last Ride powerbomb by Pillman. Goodman took off his shirt revealing a referee shirt underneath and counted to three. Dave Pillman is the champion!

"Evolving" Tour - December 29, 2001: Clinton, TN

Loco Controversy surrounded the main event on December 29th in Clinton, TN. Menace and Kidd Krazzy wrestled a 2 out of 3 falls match for the PWF Mid-South Junior Heavyweight Title held by Menace. The match lasted over 30 minutes. Krazzy won the first fall with his frog splash, and Menace won the second with a half-nelson cradle. The third fall saw the referee get knocked out, but a second ref was soon to hit the ring. Krazzy hit a belly-to-back suplex on Menace. The original referee recovered in time to make the count. The original ref counted Krazzy's shoulders down while the other ref counted Menace's shoulders down. The match was declared a draw and the title was held up. Menace challenged Krazzy to a ladder match on January 19th for the vacant title. Krazzy accepted.

Also, the evening saw an end to the year long feud between Menace and Kidd Krazzy as the two squared off in a ladder match for the vacant Junior Heavyweight Title.

After the match, Menace shook Krazzy's hand, marking the end to the year-long feud between the two. Rob Yublind was not pleased with this and badmouthed Menace and attacked him with a cane. Menace gave Yublind the Decapitator and left the arena.

  • Dave "The Science" Pillman defeated Robbie Race in a two out of three falls count anywhere match. Race took fall one, but Pillman took the last two.

"Bloodlust" - February 7, 2002: Oliver Springs, TN

PWF Mid-South invaded the Tri-County Roll Arena in Oliver Springs, TN for "Bloodlust" and the show lived up to its name. The night culminated with an arena riot as the ring was littered with dozens of chairs following the vicious heavyweight title match. Here are the full results...

  • Rich Kavana pinned Shane Williams after hitting the Undertow (Swanton Bomb). After the match, Williams hit his former partner (who suffered a concussion at the last show) in the head with a chair. Kavana returned to the commentator's table later in the show.

  • JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Kidd Krazzy defeated Jason Extreme after a top rope belly-to-back suplex(!) and frog splash. Extreme's neck was severely injured and Krazzy attacked him afterwards. Ryan and Brian Phoenix ran in to the make the save.

  • Brian Phoenix pinned Thorn after a Pedigree - This was Thorn's PWF Mid-South debut and he looked damn impressive. He dismantled Phoenix for most of the match, but Phoenix hit a quick Pedigree for the 3-count.

  • The Death Row Inmates brawled with The Phoenix Foundation following Brian's match with Thorn. The brawl spilled all over the arena and ended with The Phoenix Brothers laying out the two jailhouse monsters! Though not an official match, The Phoenix Foundation walked off with the tag titles.

  • Menace pinned Ryan Phoenix following the Menace Driver - Robbie Race attacked Menace after the match. The two used to be partners under Rob Yublind, but Menace split from the two at the last show. This was no doubt owner Rob Yublind's attempt at some retribution.

  • HEAVWEIGHT TITLE "FIRST BLOOD" MATCH: Robbie Race defeated Dave Pillman to win the PWF Mid-South Heavyweight Title - Both men were busted open simultaneously, so instead of declaring the match a draw, the ref ordered the match to continue under standard pinfall rules. In a brutally stiff match that involved tables and broken glass, Race pinned Pillman after bashing him in the head with a glass light tube. After the match, Menace ran in and called for a chair to nail the Decapitator on Race. Every fan in the arena obliged and the ring was littered with chairs. Menace hung Race in the tree of woe, stacked about six chairs in front of Race's head and hit the vicious corner to corner diagonal Decapitator. The fans chanted "PWF!" as the show ended.

"Burning Fury" - March 10, 2002: Oliver Springs, TN

PWF Mid-South returned to Oliver Springs, TN with its best show to date. The show was incredible as word of mouth had spread around the region that PWF Mid-South was the hottest new thing in wrestling. Robbie Race sucessfully defended his title, and the NWA Wildside Junior Heavyweight title was also defended on the show! Click here to view photos from this event. Here are the full results:

  • TAG TEAM TITLE TURMOIL: The Phoenix Foundation defeated The Lost Boys and Death Row Inmates to win the tag team titles - Death Row didn't want to wait to face the winner of the Phoenix-Lost Boys match and made it a three-way dance, falls count anywhere, elimination match. A table was lit on fire on the outside, and Jason Maxx was powerbombed through it by Ryan Phoenix!!! Willie B. Badd met the same fate after being quadruple-teamed and sent through another table. Death Row was pinned by The Lost Boys and eliminated first, but The Phoenix brothers pinned The Lost Boys in the end to win the match and the belts!

  • MID-SOUTH TITLE: Robbie Race defeated David Young - Pillman helped Race win but laid him out afterward.

  • JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Kidd Krazzy pinned Prison Bitch - Krazzy destroys Prison Bitch (formerly known as Evan Bates) and then challenged the injured Jason Extreme to a fight. Extreme hit the ring and knocked Krazzy out with a chair. Extreme was suffering from both a neck and ankle injury and could not compete but vowed to get his hands on Krazzy soon.

  • #1 CONTENDER TO MID-SOUTH TITLE: Menace pinned Dave "The Science" Pillman - Menace got the win with the Decapitator off a ladder into a shopping cart into a yield sign into Pillman's face...yes, you read that right.

  • Thorn pinned Rick Michaels in a battle of PWF Mid-South versus NWA Wildside.

  • RETIREMENT MATCH: Shane Williams pinned Rich Kavana - In what was the best match on the entire show, Shane Williams retired Rich Kavana after a top rope stunner. Words do not describe this match. Tables, ladders, blood, tons of near falls...what a story was told here. Some called this the best match in the history of the company...it's hard to disagree with that.

  • Jimmy Rave pinned Shawn Shultz to retain the NWA Wildside Junior Heavyweight Title

  • "Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson pinned J.P. Blunt - A great debut match for both men. Chronic got the pin following the Edgecrusher, but the athletic Blunt made a name for himself despite a losing effort.

"Endurance" - July 11, 2002: Oliver Springs, TN

PWF Mid-South returned after a four-month hiatus with "Endurance" which was headlined by a four-way title match that ended up going nearly an hour and featured some truly sick bumps. Menace nearly has his neck broken by Robbie Race when Race gives him the "Dead End" off the ring apron through a table to the floor. The crowd goes dead silent as a limp Menace is carried to the back...only to return to finish the match.

Every single title changed hands in memorable fashion on this show. From the 'shoot' in the Junior Title match, to the use of gasoline in the tag title match, to the sheer length and brutality of the 4-way title match, this was truly a night of pride for PWF Mid-South.

  • Jason Extreme pinned PWF Mid-South Jr. Heavyweight Champion Tim Kilgore
Tim Kilgore won the title from Loco at "Convergence" at the Elks Lodge in Smithfield, RI. Kilgore came out and his manager ran his mouth about how PWF Mid-South wasn't anything compared to his PWF Northeast friends. Kilgore would soon have to eat his words as Jason Extreme showed him that Mid-South wasn't about to take such insults lying down. Kilgore's remarks must have also made some people in the back mad because the Death Row Inmates ran out and attacked him. Kilgore ran around the ring for a few minutes and tried to battle with the Inmates, but they were just too tough for him. The Death Row Inmates gave Kilgore the Lockdown and then let Jason Extreme get the pinfall win over the champ. It was great to see the Junior Heavyweight Title come back home to PWF Mid-South. The Death Row Inmates stayed in the ring to help Jason with his celebration.

  • Atomic City Street Fight: J.P. Blunt pinned Scotty Hanson
The "Atomic Chronic" came out with tons of weapons in hand, but J.P. Blunt just let his talent to the talking. The match started out very technical, but "Atomic" just couldn't stay away from the weapons. He pulled out all the stops (as well as a lot of thumbtacks) yet still came up short in what was one of the best matches of the night. After the match, "Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson still managed to come to the commentary table to join The Big Business and Rich Kavana to wrap up the show.

  • Thorn's Open Challenge: Thorn pinned Shawn Shultz
Thorn came out and made an open challenge to anyone in the back that thought they could take him on. "Stunning" Shawn Shultz came out to take the challenge and did stand toe to toe with Thorn for a little while but Thorn's size and strength got the best of Shultz. Thorn walked away with the victory.

  • Thorn then stood in the ring and issued another challenge and who answered the call? None other then "Oliver Springs' Favorite Wrestler" Shane Williams. Rich Kavana undoubtedly had a few things to say about Shane being out there. Shane took it to Thorn and even brawled with Thorn out into the crowd. The Death Row Inmates grew tired of waiting for their match, and they came out and attacked Shane Williams. Thorn just left ringside shaking his head. This match was declared a no contest.

  • PWF Mid-South Tag Team Title "I Quit" Match: Death Row Inmates forced the Phoenix Foundation to quit becoming the new Tag Team Champions - After the Death Row Inmates cleared the ring of Shane Williams and Thorn, they got on the microphone and called out the champions. The Phoenix Foundation answered and brought their titles with them. The Death Row Inmates brought some reinforcements with them in the form of the dangerous Jenna Justice. This match was a straight out fight; all four men were in the ring at the same time and there were a lot of submission holds attempted by all involved. The referee with microphone in hand kept asking if any one would give up. With a lot of "no's," the referee didn't have an easy job. At one point, Jason Maxx had Bryan Phoenix in a head scissor and he took the microphone from the ref and told Bryan to give up and then hit him over the head with the microphone. The Death Row Inmates came up with the win with help from Jenna Justice, a pair of handcuffs, some gasoline and a lighter.

  • After the match Dave Pillman came to ringside and was upset with the Inmates' actions. Pillman and the Inmates had a staredown until Pillman helped the Phoenix brothers out of the ring and backstage. Ryan dragged his brother Bryan back out to the ring and asked for a microphone. Ryan questioned Brian on his actions and claimed he carried the team. Bryan just said that he saved Ryan from being hurt, and the two of them started to fight. Pillman ran out and broke them up and asked them why they were fighting. Ryan, not wanting to hear any of it, left ringside. Pillman and Brian walked backstage.

  • Main Event: Fatal Four-Way Elimination for the PWF Mid-South Heavyweight Title: Menace won the Heavyweight Title, last eliminating Robbie Race - This match had everything: kendo sticks, road signs, tables, light tubes, ladders, chairs and even flying referees. In what is one of the sickest things ever seen on video, Menace received Robbie Race's "Dead End" through a table on the floor. The crowd was silent as it looked as if Menace would not be able to finish the match, let alone walk again. As Menace was helped to the back, the action in the ring continued. Jason Extreme soon showed why he deserved to wear gold in Mid-South and eliminated the former champion Dave Pillman after a tornado DDT through glass light tubes. Could Jason Extreme win two titles in one night? Menace made his way back to the match about the same time that Jason Extreme was eliminated by Robbie Race. All odds looked to be in the Big Gun's favor, but Menace would not be denied. Soon he got the advantage and set Robbie Race up for the decapitator and hit it dead on. This had to be the end; no one has ever got up from this move. But Robbie Race proved why he was the champion and would not go down that easy. He soon got control and set up for what looked like it was going to be the end of Menace's career. With Menace on the top rope race set up a table and the placed light tubes on top of the table and went up for what would be the end of this match. Menace reversed Race's attempted move and delivered a body slam through the table and glass and scored the pinfall and the title. In a hard fought match that went 50 minutes, Menace came up with the win and the other three men congratulated Menace. After the match, Menace gave a very touching "thank you" speech to the fans, to the other wrestlers, and to PWF Mid-South owner Rob Yublind and stuCAM.

"Overload" - August 4, 2002: Oliver Springs, TN

PWF Mid-South returned to Oliver Springs for "Overload." The war of the referees continued, Menace defended his PWF Mid-South Heavyweight title for the first time, and the Big Gun Robbie Race went absolutely berserk. Click here to view photos from this event.

  • Jason Maxx pinned Dave "The Science" Pillman - Death Row's Jason Maxx took the fight to the very first PWF Mid-South Champion, and (thanks in part to the numbers game) he came out on top. After several near falls by Pillman, Maxx dumped the Science to the outside to be worked over by Willie B. Badd and Jenna Justice. In the end, Jenna's womanly ways were enough to distract the referee long enough for the Inmates to hit the Lockdown. After the match was over, Death Row proceeded to injure Pillman's knee and ankle with a chair. There is no word as of yet on his condition, but he will likely be looking for revenge soon.

  • Thorn pinned Shane Williams - "Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson entered the ring to interview the High Impact Prodigy, Thorn, but Thorn simply yanked the mic away and called out Shane Williams so he could finish the job he started at "Endurance." With those words, "Oliver Springs' Favorite Wrestler" obliged, and we had an impromptu match. In the end, Thorn's superior size and strength again proved to be too much for his smaller opponent, finishing Williams off with the Thorn Driver and the Contractor. Thorn then returned to the mic and asked for stiffer competition. Menace came to the ring and offered Thorn a title match later that evening, which was quickly accepted.

  • "Stunning" Shawn Shultz pinned Robbie Race - The former PWF Mid-South Heavyweight Champion, the "Big Gun" Robbie Race, returned with a new mean streak for his match against up-and-comer Shawn Shultz. Race dominated Shultz for most of the match, but the younger competitor did manage to work over Race's legs for a few minutes. Towards the end of the match, Squeaky Herman came to the ring and imposed himself on the contest by breaking up a pin attempt by Shultz and decking the Spur. Eventually Race's confidence and impatience were his undoing as he was small-packaged by Shultz, who gained the upset victory.

After his loss, the Big Gun gave the Dead End piledriver to Herman, who was carted out by damage control. Before Race has the chance to leave the ringside area, "Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson jumped into the ring, hoping to get a word from the former champ. Race had few words, but plenty of actions as he caned good ol' Atomic in the head and began working him over, eventually locking Hanson in a Hangman and then giving him the Dead End as well. At this point PWF Mid-South owner/promoter Rob Yublind came to the ring to send Robbie Race backstage for his actions. Race then laid out Yublind and gave him the Dead End on a set of fluorescent light tubes!!! Hanson then returned to the broadcast booth, and Yublind was helped to the back.

  • J.P. Blunt defeated Jason Extreme via forfeit - Transportation problems kept the champion from the show on this evening, and the Jersey Boy waited impatiently for a suitable replacement. Hoping to regain some pride, Shane Williams answered the challenge in his second impromptu match of the evening. Williams and Blunt put on a high-flying contest of "can-you-top this?" with Blunt hitting both a frog splash and the Fadeaway Moonsault in sequence. At this point the Death Row Inmates came to the ring and dropped Shane Williams and then worked over J.P. Blunt. As Williams returned to the locker room, the Inmates tore Blunt apart with chairs and powerbombs. This match was declared a "No Contest."

  • PWF Mid-South Heavyweight Title Match: Menace pinned Thorn - Thorn and Menace put on a clinic at "Overload," as a war of chainspots, chops, and counter wrestling was waged in the Roll Arena. Thorn wisely worked the injured back and neck of Menace, managing to unleash a variety of power moves that dumped the Blackanese Assassin on his head repeatedly. Thorn scored several near-falls, but he eventually fell victim to the Decapitator and became the first name checked off in Menace's PWF Mid-South title reign. After the fall, the Big Gun Robbie Race returned to ringside to help finish the job Thorn began, and both men worked over Menace's further injured back. Thorn then laid Menace out with the Contractor, a move Menace himself uses as the M.T.S. (Menace to Society).

  • Brian Phoenix pinned Ryan Phoenix - In what was undoubtedly the most visually exciting match of the evening, Ryan and Brian Phoenix took each other to their outer limits with countless countermoves and reversals. Both men grew exhausted as a result of their fast-paced style, and the match became a war of pinning combinations. It seemed the match would last all night because there was nothing one could do that the other could not counter. This proved to spell the end for Ryan as Brian rolled away from an attempted Wabash Cannonball and debuted the Heatwave to score the pin. After the bell, Brian tried to reconcile with his brother, but Ryan would have none of it, and left ringside an angrier, more bitter man than he was at "Endurance."

"Meltdown" - September 8, 2002: Oliver Springs, TN

The "Mid-House of Xtreme" was once again host to an evening of PWF Mid-South action with "Meltdown," an event that truly lived up to its name. After a night of long matches, hostile fans, and bizarre out-of-the-ring developments, this would prove to be the final PWF Mid-South show. Click here to view photos from this event.

  • "Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson interviewed Rob Yublind who said he was going to put Robbie Race in a handicap match with the Death Row Inmates following his actions at "Overload." Robbie Race accepted, on the condition that the tag team titles be on the line. Robbie then proceeded to attack and bloody "Atomic Chronic." Backstage, Race and Thorn attacked Willie B. Badd, injuring his leg.

  • Ryan Phoenix pinned Brian Phoenix - This was a rematch from the main event from "Overload" and the first match in a one-night mini-tournament to crown a new PWF Mid-South Junior Heavyweight Champion.

  • Shawn Shultz pinned Shane Williams - This was the second match in the Junior Heavyweight Title tournament. After the match, Shane Williams attacked Rich Kavana after Kavana taunted him.

  • Robbie Race defeated The Death Row Inmates to win the Tag Team Titles - With some help from Thorn and J.P. Blunt, Robbie Race was able to pin Willie B. Badd to win the tag team titles. Although this was a handicap match, Race chose Thorn to be his tag team partner, so Thorn and Robbie Race became the new tag team champions. As Race, Thorn, and J.P. Blunt were walking toward the back, Loco attacked Blunt which led to...

  • Loco pinned J.P. Blunt - In the final tournament qualifier, Loco defeated J.P. Blunt with the Cherry Popper. Loco advances to the finals to meet Ryan Phoenix and Shawn Shutlz in a 3-Way Elimination Match to determine the new PWF Mid-South Junior Heavyweight Champion.

  • The Spur defeated Squeaky Herman in an Arm-Wrestling Challenge - The feuding referees tried to settle their differences, but Squeaky proved to be a sore loser as he superkicked Spur off the apron and into the crowd after his loss. Squeaky challenged to Spur to a match at the next show to determine who the best referee in PWF Mid-South truly is.

  • Shawn Shultz defeated Loco and Ryan Phoenix to win the PWF Mid-South Junior Heavyweight Title - Following the match, the Phoenix Foundation reunited and beat down both Shultz and Loco.

  • Menace defeated Thorn in a best 2 out of 3 falls match to retain the PWF Mid-South Heavyweight Title - The first fall was a straight wrestling match, won by Menace after he suplexed Thorn on a chair. The second fall was a Tables match, which was won by Thorn after he threw Menace through a table. The third fall was a "Last Man Standing" match, which was won by Menace following the Decapitator after yet another chair-throwing arena riot by the hostile crowd.
