THE CHRONICLE - March 24, 2002
A few quick notes before good ol' Atomic plugs THE ROAD TO GLORY...
Kidd Krazzy's name change is the latest breaking news. It's nice that he actually spelled his new name correctly (what do you really expect, he's from Mexico). Good for you Loco; it's always important to reinvent yourself in this business. Kidd Krazzy took you as far as it could, and now you have a bright future with a much more commercially appealing moniker (that's a writer's term for "name," for all you GED Equivalents).
Ray Vandal is getting on my f'n nerves. He takes great pictures, but what is his major malfunction? Maybe he got some bad product from one of my competing businessmen. You should have come to me first, Ray. Frankly, I'm a little offended (but if you ask my girlfriend, I'm not a little anything...).
Mother Nature can be a thieving whore at times, as Kentucky has been robbed of RETRIBUTION for the third and final time. That's ok, they have plenty of professional sports teams in the Bluegrass State to keep them amused (oh, man, I'm on a roll today!!!).
2 OUT 3 FALLS: Menace vs. Kid Kash -
THE ROAD TO GLORY's feature match promises to be nothing short of a classic. For those of you who are unaware of Kid Kash's credentials (or his existence), allow me to educate your goofy asses. A native of Johnson City, Tennessee, Kid Kash spent the better part of two years in ECW (for those of you already lost, I hereby give up on you). While in ECW, Kash acquired the ECW World Television Championship from no less in institution than Rhyno of current WWF Fame. Kash put on countless spectacles of wrestling matches, pushing the likes of Yoshihiro Tajiri, Super Crazy, and Mikey Whipwreck to the limit, and he came within inches of gaining a pinfall victory over Rob Van Dam. Perhaps his greatest moments in ECW came from his feud with fellow East Tennessean E.Z. Money (know down here as Skyfire). Kash also spent several months in WCW following the ECW's folding, where he continued to put on show-stealers with Money (then known as Jason Jett).
The match, at Two out Three Falls, promises to take both Kid Kash and Menace to their limits, as it will most likely surpass the thirty minute mark, filled with numerous high-flying spots and extreme bumps. Kash's "Money in the Bank" finisher could mean a quick fall over the Blackanese Assassin, while Menace will pull out every signature move out of his repertoire, including his latest creation, the StuDriver. Menace rise to a completely new level of Greatness by defeating the Indy's most exciting freelancer. Even if he just gains one fall over Kash, Menace will cement his status as the Franchise Player in PWF Mid-South (he's still no Shane Douglas...).
PWF MID-SOUTH TITLE: Robbie Race vs. Rick Michaels -
Rick Michaels returns to PWF Mid-South. Michaels will have to bring a stronger game to take out the Big Gun than he had in his loss to Thorn. Robbie Race, on the other hand, is going to take this match more seriously than any other, as this will be his first title defense. It's time to see if the Big Gun can put his belt where his rambling, incoherent mouth is.
WINNER TAKES ALL 6-MAN ELMINATION MATCH:
The Phoenix Foundation & Jason Extreme vs. Loco & The Lost Boyz --
This could be booked as the Extreme Concept Match. How can you not love a match where one of two titles could change hands without any of the champions being pinned by their challengers? If Loco (that's a refreshing change....) were to pin both Phoenix's and Jason Extreme by himself, the Lost Boyz would be tag team champs without technically defeating their opponents. On that same note, if Jason Extreme were ELIMINATED from the match and the Phoenix Foundation were survive the match, Extreme would win Loco's Junior Heavyweight Title. This is all about trusting your partners to do their jobs. The backstage friendship between Ryan, Brian, and Jason has been well documented, but can Loco even trust the Gabriel and Azrael? Either way, the ROAD TO GLORY will be bumpy for both teams.
Dave "The Science" Pillman vs. Jason Wrecker -
Is Wrecker FINALLY going to debut? Transportation problems, schedule conflicts, and show cancellations have all postponed Wrecker's entrance into PWF Mid-South, but it's going to happen on April 5th. Dave "the Science" Pillman, after putting on a stellar performance against Menace, is looking to redeem himself and snap his current losing streak. I have faith in him, as he will forever have his spot as the First-Ever PWF Mid-South Heavyweight champion. One good Fishhook Buster could end it for the Wrecker and put Pillman back in the title picture.
Death Row Inmates vs. Future Shock -
Future Shock has picked up a few key wins in NWA Wildside lately, but that's not going to mean d*ck to the pissed-off Death Row Inmates. Jason Maxx and Willie B. Badd will be looking for one hell of a fight to ease the pain of losing their tag straps, I can only pray for the safety of Brandon P and J Freeze. (But why would I? This is gonna be a legitimate, raise the dead, slap your mother Bloodbath, why ruin that?)
Shane Williams --
Knoxville's favorite wrestler...not on the card? Well Boo-f'n-Hoo. What a shame. I'll get just a little personal and say that since BURNING FURY, Shane Williams has been gloating and running his mouth way too much considering how close he came to losing the Anarchy Wars. Keep taking pleasure in my broadcast colleague's misfortunes... please. I could use a little break from the booth to shut a wise-ass up.
Thorn will be in action.
Who's willing to step up for this challenge? I have no idea, I just want to see more hellacious beatings administered by the High Impact Prodigy.
ATOMIC CITY STREET FIGHT: "Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson vs. J.P. Blunt -
Ah, yes, it's time to talk about me. I want to go ahead and let you readers know that as a broadcast journalist, I am going to keep my personal affairs to myself, while at the same time bringing my unique perspective to the events that unfold here in PWF Mid-South. Blunt, you impressed the hell out of everyone, including myself. That's why I granted you this rematch, but not without making it my kind of match. It may be at the Thunderplex in Knoxville, but I will be taking you to Atomic City on April 5th. Get ready, Jersey boy, we're all going to see just how good you really are, and I'm going to take YOU... back to the Extreme.
I hope to see every single fan in Knoxville at the Thunderplex on the 5th; come Experience the Difference.
As always, I can be reached for all your pharmaceutical needs at ScottyAtomic@aol.com. Later.
PWF Mid-South: Expect the Best.
THE CHRONICLE - March 17, 2002
I would first like to personally thank each and every one of the fans who turned out on the 10th in Oliver Springs. You made that first match back very special for me; ovations like that are what make this all seem worth it. The training, the pain, the blood, the losses, they're all forgotten when you step through the curtain to meet that one perfect crowd who's dying to see what you have to offer them. Thank you all.
Before I preview Retribution, which will Finally take place this Saturday in Pikeville, I want to give thanks to some of the best wrestlers in the country for their above-the-rest performances last Sunday.
First of all I want to bid a fond farewell to the wrestling career of Rich Kavana. I personally will miss calling your matches, and I look forward to many more years of working with you in the broadcast booth. Best wishes.
Second on my list is the Phoenix Foundation. Brian, Ryan, you did it. And I am very proud of both of you; your perseverance, determination, and never-say-die work ethic have paid off, and you deserve it. Congratulations.
Finally on my short list of kudos is J.P. Blunt. You gave me one hell of a run for my money, and I will not forget how you brought out the best in good ol' Atomic on March 10, 2002. You're an asset to our Junior Heavyweight division. It's nice to know that I was right about how good you are, maybe they'll add "Talent Scout" to my laundry list of duties in PWF Mid-South.
One more thing, J.P.: You have found yourself offered a title shot very early in your stint down south. If you bring your game to Pikeville and wrestle the Junior Heavyweight Championship from Kidd Krazzy, I will be waiting. In either case, PWF Mid-South owner Mr. Rob Yublind has informed me that he is very interested in booking Hanson/Blunt 2 in April, and I have agreed to grant that rematch. Title or no title, we're all going to see if you can take me to the Extreme... again.
On to the rest of the card....
Mid-South Heavyweight Title: Robbie Race vs. Dylan Knight
This is finally going to happen. It's amazing how much heat can build up between two men who haven't even been in the ring together. It took one five-letter word from Race on a snowy night in Pineknot to get the wheels turning. That being one of the few words I could understand coming from the Big Gun, I have to believe he meant it. Let's see how things turn out when the pillars of PWF Universal and PWF Mid-South battle it out.... At last!!!
Menace takes on the debuting Jason Wrecker. With his win at BURNING FURY over Dave "the Science" Pillman, Menace is in the driver's seat as the Number One Contender to the Big Gun's Heavyweight Title. I'll be interested to see how seriously the Blackanese Assassin will take Wrecker this Saturday.
Lumberjack Strap Match: Phoenix Foundation vs. Death Row Inmates
Who are going to be serving as lumberjacks? Everyone's BOOKED!!! Except Pillman and Thorn, who are still expected to compete in singles action. Lumberjacks or not, the Inmates are pissed off, and they want their titles back. Can they become two-time champions? Could be, but I don't expect the Phoenix brothers to go down too easily in their first title defense.
Shane Williams vs. Jason Extreme
Shane Williams will undoubtedly be on an ego trip in light of his recent victory in the Anarchy wars. Extreme will be looking to get that all-important win after coming back from his neck and leg injuries. Should be a tremendous contest between two of our finest Junior Heavyweights.
For those of you in the Knoxville area, stay tuned to PWF Mid-South on Thursdays at 8:00 on Community Television Channel 12. And for all our fans throughout the Mid-South territory, come experience the difference. And for our fans everywhere, buy the tapes, watch them with your friends, and get the word out: PWF Mid-South, Extreme F'n Old School, except no substitutes, expect no less than the best.

THE CHRONICLE - March 9, 2002
BURNING FURY is upon us, PWF Fans, and I can't help but think that same intangible will be in the air that was in Oliver Springs at Bloodlust last month. If it is, then count on something special Sunday night. Take a look at this card.
Robbie Race's Open Challenge
Race will not be properly prepared for whoever takes the free shot at the Mid-South Heavyweight title. (FYI, it's not going to be me.) I just hope nothing WRECKS this night for the Big Gun...
#1 CONTENDER TO MID-SOUTH TITLE: Menace vs. Dave "The Science" Pillman -
This is only the second time Menace and Pillman have met since the Heavyweight title tournament, or is it? These two also wrestled each other in the first match of SCW's first show. SCW as many of you know, was the precursor to PWF Mid-South. The history is there, and a shot at the Title is on the line. Expect every g*d-damned trick in the book to be pulled out in this match.
TAG TEAM TITLE TURMOIL: The Phoenix Foundation vs. The Lost Boyz
The Lost Boyz of NWA Wildside will be debuting in PWF Mid-South, and if they live up to their reputation, they could leave BURNING FURY as double champions. But that's no easy task, as either team that emerges victorious will have to win twice to take home the gold. The Phoenix's, I'm sure, will be at their best, as they always are in Mid-South action. The Death Row Inmates will naturally want to be watching this match as they will need to know who's injured where and how to capitalize on everything that happens in Match Number One in the Turmoil.
JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE - LAST MAN STANDING: Kidd Krazzy vs. Jason Extreme
Jason Extreme can only win if he keeps his cool and remembers that this match is about winning a title, not about settling a score. Krazzy only needs to dump Extreme on his head a few times, and the 10 count would write itself. I just hope Extreme's neck injury doesn't become something permanent this Sunday.
RETIREMENT MATCH: Rich Kavana vs. Shane Williams
I really don't want to see Rich lose his career Sunday night, but if he does, we'll still have him as my broadcast colleague. If Williams loses, then what happens to him? He has nothing to fall back on. And a man with everything to lose -- is very dangerous.
Thorn vs. Rick Michaels -
Former NWA Wildside Champion Rick Michaels will have his hands full against the High Impact Upstart Thorn. I don't envy the debuting Rick Michaels, but it's not like he's coming into this match as a green rookie. He's been around, and he's won his share of titles. Thorn will have to bring everything he has, and judging from his match last month as BLOODLUST, he has plenty to bring.
"Atomic Chronic" Scotty Hanson vs. ???
Oh yes, oh yes.... Sunday night TEAM ATOMIC will be in mass at the Roller-rink, and I will not disappoint. Imagin apparently is not coming, but a suitable replacement has been found, and he's being flown in all the way from Red Bank, New Jersey for this show. My mystery opponent will not just be wrestling for the winner's paycheck; he'll be wrestling for a spot on the PWF Mid-South roster. Judging from the tapes of this man I have viewed, he has the potential to be a vital part of the Junior Heavyweight Division, and he looks like he can bring the best out of me.
See you in Oliver Springs Sunday night, if not, buy the video, this is one you'll want to keep.
And for those of you in the Knoxville Area, PWF Mid-South action can be seen every Thursday night on Community Television Channel 12 at 8:00 pm. This week you can see how the Death Row Inmates became Mid-South's first Tag Team Champions, as you join me for Highlights from that snowy night in Pineknot.

THE CHRONICLE - February 25, 2002
Before I get into this week's upcoming show, I have a special announcement. On Sunday, March 10, PWF Mid-South owner Rob Yublind is flying in a special opponent from New Jersey for me. Get ready for the PWF Mid-South debut of... IMAGIN.
RETRIBUTION will emanate this Saturday from Whitley City High School in Kentucky, marking my second voyage with PWF Mid-South into the Bluegrass State. Only this time, I'll be on both sides of the camera. That's right, folks, good ol' Atomic is lacing them up for the first time in over three months, and I am ready to go. My match this Saturday is going to be interesting for the simple fact that I've never been in a 4-Way Dance before, and I think this is going to be huge. Take a look at my competition
Shane Williams - solid athlete, showboats a lot, and he has the advantage of being Whitley City's Favorite Wrestler. I'm already shaking....
Rich Kavana - my broadcast colleague, nice moves. He's rich, I'm not, big f'n deal...
Thorne - now this is where I have to get serious. Thorne almost broke Brian Phoenix in half at BLOODLUST, and being broken in half is not my favorite pastime.
This is the only match I'll make a slight prediction for: Expect the former Anarchy teammates to take each other out, and the final fall being between me and the High-Impact Rookie.
Phoenix Foundation vs. Death Row Inmates
This one can go either way. There is a lot of history between these teams already, with the Inmates scoring a solid victory over the brothers Phoenix in the Tag Title Tournament and the Phoenix's emerging as the survivors of that mid-card brawl in Oliver Springs. I don' make predictions, but I will say I'm looking forward to calling this one.
Kidd Krazzy has an announcement to make, which most likely means I'm going to have to get in the ring and interview him on my forum "The Chronic Pit." Like I said before, I have a number of questions for our Junior Heavyweight Champ, and I won't back down until I get the answers. Krazzy's mean streak is confusing the hell out of our roster.
Menace is apparently wrestling a mystery opponent this Saturday, which means he has no way to prepare for his match. This will test the Blackanese Assassin, as he is on the verge of breaking out as the Franchise player here in PWF Mid-South.
Where the hell are Dave Pillman and Jason Extreme on this card?!?!?
Dylan Knight vs. "Big Gun" Robby Race
Keep Race off the mic, that's all I want. I think my head would explode if I had to listen to a rant like that again. Both champs are looking to assert their place in the PWF family, and Race has the opportunity to make PWF Mid-South THE promotion in the Premiere Wrestling world. It's up to you, Big Gun. Just don't talk too much.
Rob Dimension is coming this Saturday to see how his little investment is turning out on the South Side. I'm scared to think how he and Mr. Rob Yublind will get along. Excuse me for being disappointed that Steve Corino isn't coming, too.
That's all coming up this Saturday, PWF peeps. You can buy tickets online if you so desire. And for those of you who are wary of making the drive out to Whitley City, let me tell you: The DIFFERENCE is worth the DISTANCE.
THE CHRONICLE - February 11, 2002
PWF Mid-South's fourth show "Bloodlust" is over and in the books, but the action still reigns fresh in my mind. The atmosphere had an energy in it that just made me feel that I was in the midst of something special. And if I've learned anything in my 3 years in this business, it's to trust my instincts.
The opening contest between former Anarchy teammates Rich Kavana and Shane Williams was as good a start as anyone could ask for on the independent circuit. It was nice to see Kavana get the win in return for his partner's negligence last month in Pineknot. The aftermath is a different matter, as my broadcast colleague's concussion was aggravated by Williams' post-match chairing. (Is that a word? It is now.)
Match number two was a fantastic title match. I am disoriented by Kidd Krazzy's new attitude, but I suppose it goes with the angst of being the champion. He has new responsibilities now that he's "the Hunted," but I don't think that includes jawing with the fans that helped build him to where he is today. I've known Krazzy for two years, I helped train him, and I love seeing him succeed.... But not like this.
Interesting to see the Phoenix Foundation make the save for Jason Extreme following his loss to Krazzy. I hope we see more of this backstage kinship in the ring, as I'm always up for a good 6-man tag (NOTE TO ALL EAST TENNESSEE PROMOTERS: I said a GOOD 6-man tag).
Thorn debuted impressively against Brian Phoenix, though he came up a little short. Brian Phoenix proved to be very resilient, as he was dominated much of the match by Thorn's high-impact offense. After that mind-boggling delayed superplex (the Vertical Limit) combined with the Contractor (Vertibreaker), I was afraid brother Ryan would be wrestling as a single on a more permanent basis. But the Phoenix rose, as it often does. Don't worry about Thorn, though, it's always healthy to get that first loss out of the way.
The mid-card brawl between the Phoenix's and the Death Row Inmates was violent, uncontrollable, and I loved every moment of it. The Phoenix Foundation proved that a team CAN stand up to the colossal, brutal tag champions. It's interesting to see that size and strength really aren't all that matter in wrestling.
The Brass Monkey is the most innovative tag team move I've seen since Total Elimination.
I'm in the middle of my third reading of Mick Foley's autobiography, and the inspiration just pores out of it every time I pick it up and read from it. It's my own personal bible, but Foley is GOOD, not God. I love him more than anyone else, but I choose not to commit blasphemy.
Ryan Phoenix and Menace tore the house down, and I wish I could've called that match, but I was too busy cross-referencing the Big Gun's ramblings with my Jackass-to-English dictionary. And that's the champ??? I think I'll focus my ring efforts towards the Junior Heavyweight title.....
Menace was impressive as always, and I love being anywhere near the Blackanese Assassin's ring work. Ryan Phoenix asserted himself as a prime candidate for the Junior Heavyweight title, though I'm sure his hunt for the tag straps will put that quest on the backburner (for a while....). The handshake following Menace's clean victory was very much appreciated by myself and the other true gentlemen of the sport.
The title match... what can be said? I've never been more jealous of two men in my life (except in this one Rose McGowan movie...). The lightbulbs upped the metaphorical ante, as Bloodlust more than lived up to his name. The new champion earned every bit of his title victory. The Big Gun proved that he was not fodder for PWF's first Heavyweight Champion, as their four-month feud culminated on Race's first heavyweight title, and now Pillman is back to being a contender.
The post-match confrontation between Menace and Race was a thing of beauty. My old ECW tapes played simultaneously as it rained chairs in Oliver Springs that night. Race, Pillman, and Menace....the title picture is heating up. The potential is there for some amazing three-way matches... If you book it, they will come...
I truly love my role as the Voice of PWF Mid-South, and I'm extremely excited about getting back in the ring and showing all of you that I can back up my mouth. I hope I don't let anyone down.
Be sure to check out the "Evolving" and "Bloodlust" tapes for a recap of all the PWF Mid-South action from the past few months. My commentary and backstage promos are included along with all the matches of the tag team tournament on "Evolving," as well as the epic Krazzy/Menace Ladder match and an earlier title battle between Race and Dave "The Science" Pillman. Bloodlust contains all of the matches I just wrote my thoughts on, as well as some incredible backstage promos.
