This was a fun session of dress up designed to focus not on the model or even the clothing but on the textiles. I love the contrast of the dark face against the finely woven thread of the hat. The pearls peaking out from around the neck mimic the pattern of the hat and provide another subtle layer of texture. [..]

Believe it or not, this is a display of hair at the Tennessee Valley Fair. I went into the Jacob’s Building with my camera thinking I’d find all the prize-winning veggies and projects but I wasn’t expecting this – a display of a hair-styling competition.
