From 2001-2002, GX Media designed a series of VHS video box covers for New Jersey-based Combat Zone Wrestling. The gallery above shows all of the covers designed for the company in that time-frame. The full color sleeves added a professional presentation to the company’s home video line, boosting sales dramatically in both the domestic and international markets. A word of warning: CZW marketed itself as “ultra-violent wrestling” and the organization certainly lived up to that moniker. The video covers designed by GX Media reflected CZW’s product and are not for the squeamish.

While the designs admittedly have not stood the test of time, they were a decent first attempt at graphic design for GX Media, and the designs did help boost CZW’s profile, enabling the company to distribute their videos online through former wrestling video distributor, Off The Top Rope.

CZW was prominently featured in the 2008 movie, The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke .
